About Bay State Machine
Company History

Bay State Machine Co. (BSM) is a family owned and operated business, founded in 1977, by Frank J. Basile. The business opened in a converted three-car garage in the Bay State section of Northampton, MA. The new company quickly outgrew the garage space and in 1980 land was purchased in the Northampton Industrial Park allowing the construction of a 3800 square foot building. The next 20 years were spent growing the business and diversifying its work. The 3800 square feet eventually became cramped and in 2001, an additional 7000 square feet were added, providing BSM with much needed space and increased productivity. That extra space served the company quite well over the next 3 years but again BSM was growing out of space. With no where left to expand at its current location, the company began to look elsewhere. With much luck, a 15000 square foot building located not too far away in the Easthampton Industrial Park in Easthampton, MA was found. BSM purchased the Easthampton building and renovated the space and added on another 15000 square feet, for a total of 30000 square feet of manufacturing space. BSM broke ground on the new facility in the fall of 2004. With much anticipation the company moved into the bright and modern building in March of 2005.

The new air conditioned facility boasts several new machining centers, a centrally located Inspection Department, tumbling and sandblasting rooms, saw cutting capabilities and a state-of-the-art air quality control system. The move also allowed BSM to implement a twenty-seat LAN system and has enabled the company to fully utilize its Visual Job Shop Software. The best part is that even with the addition of our new machining centers, there is still room to grow, both within our site and/or by adding another addition should that day come!
We contract our services to a wide variety of industries, including automotive, computer, food, medical, government, law enforcement and sporting ordnance. We are committed to manufacturing quality parts with on time deliveries.
BSM also employs a team of very experienced people:
